  1. The name and style of the Company is “The Lowland Lass Gold Mixing Company (Registered).”
  2. The place of operations is at the Tararu Creek, at the Thames Goldfield, in the Province of Auckland, in the Colony of New Zealand.
  3. The nominal capital of the Company is Four thousand four hundred Pounds in Four thousand four hundred shares of One Pound each.
  4. The amount already paid up is Two hundred and twenty Pounds, with the remainder of the nominal capital, being the estimated value of the Company’s mine.
  5. The name of the Manager is William Percival.
  6. The office of the Company is at Brown-street, Grahamstown.
  7. The names and several residences of the shareholders, and the number of shares held by each at this date, are as follows:—

VICTORIA, by the grace of God of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland Queen, Defender of the Faith:
To WALTER GRAHAME, of Auckland, merchant, and all other parties whom it may concern.

WHEREAS an action is now pending in our Supreme Court of New Zealand, Northern District, Province of Auckland, between William Smellie Grahame, formerly of Auckland, merchant, but at present residing in England, plaintiff, and Robert Simpson Thomson, formerly of Auckland, settler, but now of San Francisco, defendant, and in order that the plaintiff may proceed in the said action, we command you, that you and each of you do retain and keep all and singular lands and other hereditaments, monies and chattels, bills, bonds, and other property of whatsoever nature, in the custody or under the control of you or either of you at the time of the service of this writ, belonging to the abovenamed defendant, or to or in which such defendant shall at that time be legally or equitably entitled or otherwise beneficially interested, and whether solely or jointly with any other person or persons, and all debts of every kind then due by you or either of you to such defendant, although the same or part thereof may be payable only at a future day: until the further order of our said Court, and this you shall in no wise omit.

Witness His Honor Sir George Alfred Arney, Knight, Chief Justice of our said Supreme Court of New Zealand, at Auckland, this first day of March, A.D. 1871.

This writ was issued by John Richmond, of Shortland-street, Auckland, Solicitor for the above-named plaintiff.

I, THE undersigned, Thomas Wilson Garlick, hereby make application to Register the “Coromandel Gold Mining Company, Registered,” under the provisions of “The Mining Companies’ Limited Liability Act, 1865,” “The Mining Companies’ Limited Liability Act Amendment Act, 1869,” and “The Mining Companies’ Limited Liability Act Amendment Act, 1870,” and I do solemnly and sincerely declare that the following statement is, to the best of my belief and knowledge, true in every particular, namely—

  1. The name and style of the Company is the “Coromandel Gold Mining Company, Registered.”
  2. The place of intended operations is at the Tokatea Range, on the Coromandel Goldfield.
