IT is hereby notified that the Offices of the Provincial Government will be closed on Friday, the 17th instant, being St. Patrick’s Day.

IN pursuance of the fifth clause of “The Highways Act, 1871,” I do hereby bring the said Act into operation within the

MANAIA HIGHWAY DISTRICT,

and I do appoint the First Meeting of Ratepayers to take place at the School-house, Whangarei Heads, on Thursday, the 16th day of March instant, at ten o’clock in the forenoon, and John Grant McLeod, Esq., to be Chairman of such meeting.

Given under my hand at Auckland, this ninth day of March, One thousand eight hundred and seventy-one.

PARUA HIGHWAY DISTRICT,

and I do appoint the First Meeting of Ratepayers to take place at the School-house, Parua Bay, Whangarei, on Wednesday, the 22nd day of March instant, at twelve o’clock noon, and Mr. John Lambert to be Chairman of such meeting.

HAURAKI GOLDFIELD.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

IT is hereby notified that the Application for a Mining Lease set forth in the Schedule hereunder has been withdrawn, and that the land therein mentioned, in so far as not otherwise legally occupied, is now open for occupation.

Plan may be seen at the Engineer’s Office, Grahamstown.
