IT is hereby notified that the Offices of the Provincial Government will be closed on Thursday next the 9th instant, in commemoration of the Birth-day of His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales.

COROMANDEL GOLDFIELD.
PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.
In pursuance of the 29th section of “The Gold-fields Act, 1866,” and of the Regulations made under that Act for the granting of Leases for Gold Mining purposes, it is hereby notified that it is intended to grant Leases for Gold Mining purposes to the applicants specified in the Schedule hereunder, unless valid objections can be shown against granting such Leases.
Copies of the applications made, and plans annexed, may be seen at the Warden’s Office, Coromandel.

SCHEDULE.
C. W. MELLSOP; 15 years’ lease of 6 acres, quartz reef; bounded on the north by the “French Republic,” “Siege of Paris,” and “Daylight” claims, on the east by unoccupied ground, on the south by “Pride of Tokatea” and “Little Wonder” claims, and on the west by the “Tokatea” and “Bismarck” claims, ground partly held under Miners’ Rights, and known as the “Queen’s Birthday” claim; application received in Warden’s Office, Coromandel, at 1:50 p.m., on the 19th October, 1871.
CHARLES MILLS; 15 years’ lease of 10 acres of quartz mining ground situated on the Tokatea Range, adjoining the “Coromandel” and “Puketutu” Gold Mining Companies’ ground; application received in Warden’s Office, Coromandel, at 11:45 a.m., on the 21st October, 1871.
ALEXANDER D. MACTAVISH, THOS. CLARK, JACOB VANDERSPECK, JOHN LEPSLEY, HUGH O’BRIEN, EDWARD PRATT, and PATRICK FRANCE, applied for by A. D. Mactavish; 15 years’ lease of 15 acres, bounded on the south by the leased ground of the “Coromandel Harp,” and on the north, east and west by unoccupied ground; claim not held under Miners’ Rights; application received in Warden’s Office, Coromandel, at 10:15 a.m., on the 23rd October, 1871.
The Golden Harp Gold Mining Company, Registered, applied for by C. W. Hall; 15 years’ lease of 2½ acres, situated on Kevin’s Hill, and adjoining the “Green Harp” and “Shamrock” leases;
