PROCLAMATION.

By THOMAS BANNATYNE GILLIES, Esquire,
Superintendent of the Province of Auckland.

BY virtue of the powers and authority vested in the Superintendent under the 11th section of “The Auckland Waste Lands Act, 1867,” I do hereby temporarily reserve for Educational purposes, until the next session of the Auckland Provincial Council, all that piece or parcel of land containing about 5 acres, and being the eastern portion of allotment No. 57 of the parish of Maungakaramea, in the county of Marsden.

Given under my hand and the public seal of the said Province, this first day of August, One thousand eight hundred and seventy-one.

COROMANDEL GOLDFIELD.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

By THOMAS BANNATYNE GILLIES, Esquire,
Superintendent of the Province of Auckland.

BY virtue and in pursuance of the powers vested in the Governor in Council by Section 10 of “The Goldfields Act, 1866,” and the delegation held by me, I do hereby revoke the exemption from occupation for Mining purposes of all that piece of land within the Coromandel Goldfields, mentioned and described in the notification under my hand, published in the Provincial Government Gazette, No. 18, dated the 8th June, 1871. And by virtue of the same powers, I do hereby exempt from occupation for Mining purposes, all that piece of ground within the Coromandel Goldfield which lies within 400 yards, at right angles on both sides of a straight line commencing at the junction of the Main Kapanga creek with the Whakaroa stream, and running in a North-easterly direction between the North-western angle of the Tokatea Gold Mining Company’s (registered) lease, and the South-western angle of the Masonic lease to the nearest branch of the Harataunga river. Provided always that the above exemption shall not extend to any portion of the said lands now lawfully occupied for mining purposes.

HAURAKI GOLDFIELD.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

Superintendent’s Office,
Auckland, 1st August, 1871.

IN pursuance of the 29th section of “The Goldfields Act, 1866,” and of the Regulations made under that Act for the granting of Leases for Gold Mining purposes, it is hereby notified that it is intended to grant Leases for Gold Mining purposes to the applicants specified in the Schedule hereunder, unless valid objections can be shown against granting such Leases.

Copies of the applications made, and plans annexed, may be seen at the Warden’s Office, Grahamstown.
