Flax Commission,

Wellington, 8th December, 1870.

THE House of Representatives having resolved that there should be an Exhibition in Wellington during the next session of the Assembly of all varieties of Flax Fibre prepared in the Colony, Manufacturers are invited to forward to the Flax Commissioners, through the Superintendent of their Province, samples of the Fibre, Rope, Sacking, or any other material prepared by them from the New Zealand Flax. The samples of fibre should not be less than 20lbs. in weight, and 10 or 15 fathoms of each kind of rope will be sufficient. It is desirable that a statement of the processes and estimated cost of manufacture should accompany the samples.

I, THE undersigned, John Gwynneth, hereby make application to register “The Harbour View Gold Mining Company, Registered,” under the provisions of “The Mining Companies’ Limited Liability Act, 1865,” and I do solemnly and sincerely declare that the following statement is, to the best of my belief and knowledge, true in every particular, namely—

  1. That the name and style of the Company is The Harbour View Gold Mining Company, Registered.
  2. The place of operations is at the Tokatea Range, Coromandel Goldfield.
  3. The nominal capital of the Company is Twenty-four thousand pounds in four thousand eight hundred shares of five pounds each.
  4. The amount already paid up in cash is Nil, the amount in paid up shares is Nineteen thousand two hundred pounds sterling.
  5. The name of the Manager is John Gwynneth.
  6. The office of the Company is in Queen-street, in the City of Auckland.
  7. The names and several residences of the shareholders, and the number of shares held by each at this date, are as follows, namely—

  1. That the name and style of the Company is The Golden Phoenix Gold Mining Company Registered.
  2. The place of operations is at Oponui, at the Thames Goldfield, in the Province of Auckland in the Colony of New Zealand.
  3. The nominal capital of the Company is Seven thousand pounds in Three thousand five hundred shares of Two pounds each.
  4. The amount already paid up in cash is nil, in partly paid up shares Six thousand one hundred and twenty-five pounds, being the estimated value of the Company’s mine.
  5. The name of the Manager is William Carpenter.
  6. The office of the Company is at Banks’ Buildings, the Wharf, Grahamstown.
  7. The names and several residences of the shareholders, and the number of shares held by each at this date are as follows, namely—
