PROCLAMATION.

Superintendent of the Province of Auckland

UNDER and in pursuance of the powers vested in me by an Act of the Superintendent and Provincial Council of the Province of Auckland, intituled
"The Grahamstown Fire Rate Act, 1871" (Session XXVI, No. 10, 1870-1), I do hereby proclaim and declare that the said Act shall come into operation from and after the first day of July next.

Given under my hand and the public seal of the Province of Auckland this twenty-ninth day of May, One thousand eight hundred and seventy-one.

HAURAKI GOLD FIELD.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

Superintendent's Office,
Auckland, 30th May, 1871.

IN pursuance of the 29th Section of "The Goldfields Act, 1866," and of the Regulations made under that Act for the granting of Leases for Gold Mining purposes, it is hereby notified that it is intended to grant Leases for Gold Mining purposes to the Appli-
cants specified in the Schedule hereunder, unless valid objections can be shown against granting such Leases. Copies of the Applications made, and Plans annexed, may be seen at the Warden's Office, Grahamstown.

EDWARD HONISS: 15 years' lease of 15 acres, situated at Grahamstown, adjoining the "Prince Imperial" and "Sailor Prince" Gold Mining Companies, Karaka; known as the "Crown Prince" Claim and adjoining ground; application received in Warden's Office, Grahamstown, at 2:35 p.m., 22nd May, 1871β€”R.B. 873.

THE BELMONT GOLD MINING COMPANY: applied for by David Philp, 15 years' lease of 15 acres, auriferous quartz; bounded on the West by the "Great Republic," on the South by the "Bank of New Zealand," on the East by the "Multum in Parvo" and "Vale of Avoca," and on the North by the "Cascade" Claims, Karaka Block; known as the "Better Bide Still" Claim, partly held under Miners' Rights, and partly abandoned ground; application received in Warden's Office, Grahamstown, at 3:30 p.m., 22nd May, 1871β€”R.B. 874.

CHRISTOPHER D. BERRY: 15 years' lease of 12 acres, more or less, situated on the Moanataiari Creek and on the Kuranui Spur; bounded on the North by the "Berkeley Castle" and "Harbour View," on the East by the "Great Britain," on the West by the "Eureka Hill" Gold Mining Company, and on the South by the "Midnight"
