PROCLAMATION.

By Thomas Bannatyne Gillies,
Esquire, Superintendent of the
Province of Auckland, in the
Colony of New Zealand.

PURSUANT to the authority in me vested, I,
Thomas Bannatyne Gillies, the Superintendent
of the Province of Auckland, do hereby proclaim
and declare that the twenty-sixth Session of the
Provincial Council shall be holden at Auckland,
and shall commence at two o’clock p.m. on Wed-
nesday, the twenty-sixth day of October next; and
the Members of the said Council are hereby warned
to give their attendance at the same time and place
accordingly.

Lord, One thousand eight hun-
dred and seventy.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

Auckland, 17th September, 1870.

IN accordance with the thirteenth clause of my
Proclamation of date the 21st February, 1870,
for the establishment of a Mining Board for the
Province of Auckland, the following Bye-laws for
Standing Orders, proposed by the Board, are
gazetted for public information.

BYE-LAWS FOR STANDING ORDERS

OF THE MINING BOARD OF AUCKLAND

THAMES GOLD FIELDS.

At a Meeting of the Mining Board of the
District of Auckland, begun and holden at
the Thames, in the said District, on the 18th day
of April, 1870, it is ordained by the said Board:—

  1. That on the assembling of the Board after
    every Election, the Clerk shall read the Returning
    Officer’s intimation, setting forth the names of the
    persons who have been elected as Members of the
    Board.

  2. That the sittings of the Board be open to the
    public, except in Committee, but any one Member
    of the Board may require the exclusion of strangers,
    while the sense of the Board is taken, whether the
    question then under consideration shall be discussed
    with closed doors, or not.

  3. That every Member, on first taking his seat at
    the Board, shall enter his name and address in a
    book to be kept for that purpose.

  4. That on a quorum being present, the business
    of the Board shall commence at the time fixed, but
    should there be no quorum within thirty (30)
    minutes after that time, the Board shall stand
    adjourned until the next regular day and hour of
    meeting, and the Clerk shall record the names of
    the Members present.

  5. That a quorum shall consist of three Members,
    and in the absence of the Chairman, a chairman
    pro. tem. shall be appointed from amongst the
    Members present.

  6. That the regular days of meeting of the Board
    shall be the second Monday in each month, unless
    otherwise ordered.

  7. That at each meeting of the Board the
    business shall be proceeded with in the following
    order—

    be read over, and corrected if necessary,
