HAURAKI GOLD FIELD.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

Superintendent’s Office,
Auckland, 15th September, 1870.

IN pursuance of the 29th Section of "The Gold Fields Act, 1866," and of the Regulations made under that Act for the granting of Leases for Gold Mining purposes, it is hereby notified that it is intended to grant Leases for Gold Mining purposes to the Applicants specified in the Schedule hereunder, unless valid objections can be shown against granting such Leases.

Copies of the Applications made, and Plans annexed, may be seen at the Warden’s Office, Grahamstown.

SCHEDULE.

Robert M. Mitchell for the Success Gold Mining Company, Registered; 15 years’ lease of 3½ acres more or less, auriferous quartz land; situated on the Moanatairi Creek, Karaka Block; bounded by the "North Devon," "Alburnia and Pride of the West," "Whau," "Star of the South" and "Bendigo Independent" Gold Mining Company, Registered; held under Miners’ Rights; known as the "Success" Gold Mining Company, comprising the "Point in View," "Star of the North" and "Pioneer" Claims; with right of roads to tramways; application received in Warden’s Office, Grahamstown, at 2.30 p.m., 12th September, 1870, No. 791.

George W. Jones, for the Middle Star Gold Mining Company, Registered; 15 years’ lease of about 1½ acre more or less, situated on the Moanatairi Creek, Karaka Block; bounded by "Middle Star" Company, "Middle Star Extended" Company, "Comet No. 1," and part of "Golden Circle" Claim; known as part of the "Golden Circle" Claim, formerly "General Grant" Claim; abandoned ground; application received in Warden’s Office, Grahamstown, at 1.55 p.m., 14th September, 1870, No. 792.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

IT is hereby notified that a Lease has been refused to the Applicants named in the Schedule hereunder.

SCHEDULE.

William Souter and Joseph Grant; 15 years’ lease of 1½ acres more or less, on the Waiotahi, next to the "Golden Hill" and "Waiotahi" Gold Mining Companies; known as the "Perseverance" Claim; application notified in Gazette No. 76, dated 7th October, 1869, page 1305.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

Superintendent’s Office,
Auckland, 17th September, 1870.

IT is hereby notified that the several Mining Leases set forth in the Schedule hereunder, have been cancelled on account of non-execution, and that all rights, privileges, and claims in respect of the applications for the same are deemed to have been forfeited, and that the land therein mentioned, in so far as not occupied under Miners’ Rights, is now open for occupation.

Plans may be seen at the Engineer’s Office, Grahamstown.
