PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

IT is hereby notified that a Lease has been refused to the Applicant named in the Schedule hereunder.

SCHEDULE.

WALTER SULLY, for the Alburnia Gold Mining Company, Registered; 15 years’ lease of about 4½ acres; situate at Tinker’s Gully, Thames Gold Field; formerly known as “Alburnia and Pride of the West No. 2;” application (No. 777) notified in Gazette No. 36, dated 20th July, 1870, page 307.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

IT is hereby notified that the several Mining Leases set forth in the Schedule hereunder, have been cancelled on account of non-execution, and that all rights, privileges, and claims in respect of the applications for the same are deemed to have been forfeited, and that the land therein mentioned, in so far as not occupied under Miners’ Rights, is now open for occupation.

Plans may be seen at the Engineer’s Office, Grahamstown.

The Lord of the Isles Gold Mining Company, Registered, applied for by Peter Joseph Dalton; 15 years’ lease of 5½ acres more or less, situate on Tararu Creek; comprising the claims known as the “Lord of the Isles,” “Lyttelton Boys,” and spare ground; application notified in Gazette No. 78, dated 18th October, 1869, page 1325.

The Lombard Street Gold Mining Company, Registered, applied for by Acheson McClintock; 15 years’ lease of 6½ acres or thereabouts; bounded by “Clarkson’s No. 2” and the “United Kingdom” Claims, and comprising the “Derry,” the “Fairfield,” the “Blue Bell,” and spare ground adjoining; application notified in Gazette No. 68, dated 20th September, 1869, page 1106.

The City of Manchester Gold Mining Company, Registered, applied for by H. E. Campbell; 15 years’ lease of 5 acres 3 roods and 6 perches, situate on the Waiotahi Creek, Karaka Block; bounded on the East by the “City of Melbourne” Claim; on the North by the “Braganza” Claim; on the North and West by the “Freeman’s Bay” Gold Mining Company; and on the South by the “Great Northern” Gold Mining Company’s ground, and comprising the “Golden Star,” “Young Colonial,” “Duke of Cambridge,” and “Golden Gate” Claims; application notified in Gazette No. 80, dated 22nd October, 1869, page 1382.

The Erin’s Hope Gold Mining Company, Registered, applied for by Lowther Broad; 15 years’ lease of about 10 acres; situated at Kohinoor Spur, Shellback, and held as the “Erin’s Hope,” “Diamond,” “Shaw’s Reef,” “Halcyon,” and “Enterprise” Claims; application notified in Gazette No. 60, dated 1st September, 1869, page 903.

DANIEL GROVE and EDWARD PRATT, applied for by Edward Pratt for the Golden Belt Gold Mining Company; 15 years’ lease of 10½ acres more or less; situated between and adjoining the “Abbotsford,” “Hero,” and “Proof Positive” Gold Mining Companies; known as the “Golden Belt” Gold Mining Company’s ground; application notified in Gazette No. 72, dated 28th September, 1869, page 1213.

EDWARD PRATT; 15 years’ lease of 3 acres 2 roods 27 perches; adjoining the “Golden Crown Extended” Gold Mining Company’s Lease, and the “Tui and Cuckoo” Claims in the Karaka Block; application notified in Gazette No. 79, dated 16th October, 1869, page 1359.

WARWICK WESTON, applied for by Thomas S. Weston for the Grand Trunk Gold Mining Company, Registered; 15 years’ lease of 5 acres or thereabouts; adjoining the “Great Republic” and “Great Exhibition” Claims; application notified in Gazette No. 88, dated 17th November, 1869, page 1572.

JOHN COOK, JOHN SMITH, OTTO HANSON, and ALEXANDER McLENNOSE, applied for by John Cook; 15 years’ lease of 6 acres and 3 roods; adjoining the “Polynesia” Gold Mining Company’s Lease, Tararu; application notified in Gazette No. 70, dated 25th September, 1869, page 1188.

The Metropolitan Gold Mining Company, Registered, applied for by Samuel Brooking; 15 years’ lease of 15 acres or thereabouts, situated in the Waiotahi Creek, adjoining the “Golden City,” “Duchess of Kent,” and other claims; and comprising the “Victoria,” “City of Cork,” “Brian Boru,” “Five Fingers,” “Octoroon,” and “Little Emy” Claims; application notified in Gazette No. 89, dated 24th June, 1869, page 507. [N.B. The cancellation of this Lease was incorrectly notified in Gazette No. 17, dated 5th April, 1870, page 135.]
