NOTICE TO HIGHWAY BOARDS.

IT is requested that any Board of Trustees which may desire amendment in the boundaries of their District will at once communicate with the Provincial Secretary, in order that the proposed alteration (if approved) may be made to take effect at the Annual Meeting of Ratepayers in October next.

HAURAKI GOLD FIELD.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

IN pursuance of the 29th section of "The Gold Fields Act, 1866," and of the Regulations made under that Act for the granting of Leases for Gold Mining purposes, it is hereby notified that it is intended to grant a Lease for Gold Mining purposes to the applicant specified in the Schedule hereunder, unless valid objections can be shown against granting such Lease.

Copy of the application made and plan annexed may be seen at the Warden’s Office, Grahamstown.

SCHEDULE.

Charles Tothill, for the Wild Missouri Gold Mining Company, Registered: 15 years’ lease of about 10 acres; situated on Fiery Creek and Tinker’s Gully, Tararu; adjoining Thorburn’s lease and the "Lady Bird and Hand of Friendship" Gold Mining Company’s Claims; part held under Miner’s Right, and part abandoned ground. Application received in Warden’s Office, Grahamstown, at 11.35 a.m., 26th July, 1870. No. 781.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

IT is hereby notified that the Mining Lease set forth in the Schedule hereunder, has been cancelled on account of non-execution; and that all rights, privileges, and claims in respect of the application for the same are deemed to have been forfeited, and that the land therein mentioned, in so far as not occupied under Miners’ Rights, is now open for occupation.

Plan may be seen at the Engineer’s Office, Grahamstown.

SCHEDULE.

The Royal Alfred Gold Mining Company, Registered, applied for by T. Blackall Shapton: 15 years’ lease of 11¼ acres or thereabouts; situated on the Boundary Creek between the Tararu and Karaka Blocks, and comprising the ground held by the "Scorpion" and "Plymouth Rock" Claims, and spare ground adjacent thereto; application notified in Gazette No. 55, dated 20th August, 1869, page 757.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

IT is hereby notified that a Writ, issued by the Superintendent, for the election of two Members of the Auckland Provincial Council for the Electoral District of THE THAMES, has been returned to this Office, with a certificate endorsed thereon to the effect that

Lowther Broad, Esq., of Shortland, Leaseholder, and

Andrew Beveridge, Esq., of Auckland, Freeholder,

have been duly elected.
