HAURAKI GOLD FIELD.
PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.
IT is hereby notified that the several Mining Leases set forth in the Schedule hereunder, have been cancelled on account of non-execution, and that all rights, privileges, and claims in respect of the applications for the same are deemed to have been forfeited, and that the land therein mentioned, in so far as not occupied under Miners’ Rights, is now open for occupation.
Plans may be seen at the Engineer’s Office, Grahamstown.

HARRY ALLEN, GEORGE PITKETHLEY, and JAMES S. HAMLIN; 15 years’ lease of about 4½ acres; situated on the Watershed, between “Mclsaacs” Gold Mining Company, Registered, the “St. Catherine” Gold Mining Company, and the “President Lincoln” Claim; application notified in Gazette No. 61, dated 3rd September, 1869, page 932.
HENRY SARJEANT, applied for on his behalf by E. A. Chapman; 15 years’ lease of about 10 acres; adjacent to the “St. Kilda” Company’s ground, and the Kauaeranga Creek, near the Slaughteryards; application notified in Gazette No. 61, dated 3rd September, 1869, page 934.
JOHN LYNDON; 15 years’ lease of about 11 acres, situated at Tararu; bounded by the “Star of Canterbury,” “Star of California,” “Cosmopolitan,” “Royal Adventurer,” and “Lord Raglan” Claims; application notified in Gazette No. 42, dated 7th July, 1869, page 554.
INGHAM STEPHENS; 15 years’ lease of about 11 acres; situate on the Karaka Creek, adjoining the “Colleen Bawn” Claim; application notified in Gazette No. 57, dated 25th August, 1869, page 820.
HUGH CULLEN; 15 years’ lease of 2 acres; situate on the Karaka Hill, adjoining the “Pride of Karaka” and “Una” Companies ground; application notified in Gazette No. 92, dated 1st December, 1869, page 1701.
GEORGE SHEPPARD; 12 years’ lease of about 10 acres; situate at the head of Karaka Creek, adjoining the “Great Mogul” Claim; application notified in Gazette No. 68, dated 20th September, 1869, page 1101.
MICHAEL HANNAFORD; 15 years’ lease of about 7½ acres; situate on the Hape Creek and partly within the Township of Shortland; bounded by the “Rob Roy,” “Golden Valley,” “Tweedsdale,” “Rover,” and “Dreadnaught” Claims; application notified in Gazette No. 39, dated 24th June, 1869, page 508.
JAMES WILLIS; 15 years’ lease of about 2¼ acres; known as the “Otahuhu No. 1” Claim; adjoining the “Candlelight No. 2” and “Dover Castle” Claims, Waiotahi; application notified in Gazette No. 57, dated 25th August, 1869, page 825.
PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.
Superintendent’s Office,
Auckland, 27th June, 1870.
TENDERS will be received at this Office until noon of Monday, the 25th day of July next, from persons willing to Contract for the Erection of Two Lighthouses in the Hauraki Gulf. Tenders will be required for each work separately, and must be accompanied by a deposit of Five per Cent. on the value of the Tender, which will be returned in the event of the Tender not being accepted, but will be forfeited in the event of the Tender being accepted and the Tenderer refusing to sign the Contract.
Plans, Specifications, and Forms of Tender may be seen, and further particulars obtained, at the Public Works Office, Auckland.
The lowest or any Tender will not necessarily be accepted.
Tenders to be endorsed “Tender for Lighthouse.”
