PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

Superintendent’s Office,
Auckland, 19th May, 1870.

IT is hereby notified that Tuesday, the 24th instant, will be observed as a Public Holiday at the Provincial Government Offices, in honour of Her Majesty’s Birthday; and that the Wardens at the Thames and Coromandel will grant protection for three days to Volunteers and others who may desire to take advantage of the holiday.

SCHEDULE.

John Gibbons; 15 years’ lease of 8 acres, quartz reef; bounded by “Pride of the World,” “Macdonald,” “Duke of Edinburgh,” “Una” Company’s ground, Karaka Block; known as the abandoned lease of “English Mail” Gold Mining Company, “Una, No. 8;” with right of forming tram or other roads, and depositing debris; application dated the 3rd May, 1870, and received in Warden’s Office, Shortland, at 1.10 p.m., 3rd May, 1870.

HAURAKI GOLD FIELD.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

IT is hereby notified that the Cancellation of the Lease granted to the “Greenstone” Gold Mining Company, Registered, (see page 164 of this Gazette) was in error, and that the land applied for is not open for occupation.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

Superintendent’s Office,
Auckland, 20th May, 1870.

IT is hereby notified that Leases have been refused to the Applicants named in the Schedule hereunder, and that the land therein mentioned, in so far as not occupied under Miners’ Rights, is now open for occupation.

Plans may be seen at the Engineer’s Office, Grahamstown.

SCHEDULE.

George Sewell Harré; 15 years’ lease of about 7 acres; known as the “Monte Christo” Prospecting Claim, and the “Golden Prospect” Claim, with 5 extra men’s ground; application notified in Gazette No. 61, dated 3rd September, 1869, page 944.

Samuel Fowler, for the Violet Gold Mining Company; 15 years’ lease of 3¼ acres, more or less; situate on the Hape Creek; known as the “St. George” Claim and surplus ground; bounded by the “Sheffield,” “Alfred,” “Rover,” “Jupiter,” and “Homeward Bound” Claims; application notified in Gazette No. 64, dated 10th September, 1869, page 1031.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

Superintendent’s Office,
Auckland, 20th May, 1870.

IN pursuance of the 29th section of “The Gold Fields Act, 1866,” and of the Regulations made under that Act for the granting of Leases for Gold Mining purposes, it is hereby notified that it is intended to grant a Lease for Gold Mining purposes to the Applicant named in the Schedule hereunder, unless valid objections can be shown against granting such Lease.

Copy of the Application made, and Plan annexed, may be seen at the Warden’s Office, Shortland.
