PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

Superintendent’s Office,
Auckland, 6th May, 1870.

In pursuance of the 29th section of "The Gold Fields Act, 1866," and of the Regulations made under that Act for the granting of Leases for Gold Mining purposes, it is hereby notified that it is intended to grant Leases for Gold Mining purposes to the Applicants named in the Schedule hereunder, unless valid objections can be shown against granting such Leases.

Copy of the Applications made, and Plans annexed, may be seen at the Warden’s Office, Coromandel.

SCHEDULE.

PATRICK O’NEILL, MICHAEL HENBERT, RICHARD JONES, AUSTIN DALY, DANIEL SHERIDAN,
JOHN BROWN, JAMES KIDNEY, JOHN NICHOLSON, WILLIAM DUFFY, MICHAEL KAINE, THOMAS HORAN, JAMES SENIOR, JAMES McMAHON, and MICHAEL McMAHON: 15 years’ lease of 9 acres; Quartz; bounded on the North by the "Pride of the Hills;" on the East by the "Lallah Rookh;" on the South by the "Pride of the Pukewhau;" and on the West by unoccupied ground, known as the "Young Republic" Claim; held under Miners’ Rights; with rights of road; application received in Warden’s Office, Coromandel, at 2.45 p.m., 2nd May, 1870.

THOMAS MACFARLANE: 15 years’ lease of about 4 acres, being the "Lucky Hit" Claim; adjoining the "Band of Hope," "Adelaide," "Greenstone," and other Claims; Karaka Block; with the right to use the water flowing in the Creek where the Machine is erected; held under Miners’ Right; application received in Wardens’ Office, Shortland, at 3 p.m., 4th May, 1870.

WILLIAM SOUTER: 15 years’ lease of 2 acres or thereabouts; Quartz Reef; situate at the head of the Karaka; bounded by "Lucky Hit" and "Star of Fermanagh," known as the "Adelaide" Claim; application received in Wardens’ Office, Shortland, at 2.25 p.m., 5th May, 1870.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

Auckland, 10th May, 1870.

It is hereby notified that Leases have been refused to the Applicants named in the Schedule hereunder, and that the land therein mentioned, in so far as not occupied under Miners’ Rights, is now open for occupation. Plans may be seen at the Engineer’s Office, Grahamstown.
