PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

By John Williamson, Esquire, Superintendent of the
Province of Auckland.


In conformity to the 29th Section of "The Gold Fields Act, 1866," and to the Regulations made under that Act, for the granting of Leases for Gold Mining purposes, it is hereby notified that it is intended to grant a Lease for Gold Mining purposes, of Crown lands to the applicant specified in the annexed Schedule, unless valid objections can be shown against granting such Lease.

Objections to granting such Lease, stating the grounds of objection, must be made in writing, and lodged with the Wardens, at Shortland, within the time prescribed by the aforesaid Regulations.

Copy of the application made, and plans annexed, may be seen at the Wardens’ Office, Shortland.

Given under my hand, at Auckland this thirtieth day of September, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-nine.

SCHEDULE.

APPLICATION FOR LEASE.

In pursuance of the Regulations for granting Leases for Gold Mining purposes on Gold Fields in the Province of Auckland, I hereby make application for a Lease, whereof the particulars are as follow, to be granted to Robert Gordon Macdonald, for the "Excelsior Gold Mining Company (Registered)".*

Three acres Fifteen years All that claim situate at the head of No. 2 Gully, Tapu Creek, known as the "Excelsior." Bounded on the North and Eastland by the "May Flower" lease; on the South by the "Little Republic," and on the West by the "Great Republic." Held under Miners’ Rights, being the claim known as the Excelsior. Nil

Dated the 15th day of September, 1869.
