PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

BY JOHN WILLIAMSON, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Auckland.

IN conformity to the 29th Section of "The Gold Fields Act, 1866," and to the Regulations made under that Act, for the granting of Leases for Gold Mining purposes, it is hereby notified that it is intended to grant a Lease for Gold Mining purposes of Crown lands, to the applicants specified in the annexed Schedule, unless valid objections can be shown against granting such Lease.

Objections to granting such Lease, stating the grounds of objection, must be made in writing, and lodged with the Wardens, at Shortland, within the time prescribed by the aforesaid Regulations.

Copy of the application made, and plans annexed, may be seen at the Warden’s Office, Shortland.

Given under my hand, at Auckland, this thirteenth day of September, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-nine.

SCHEDULE.

APPLICATION FOR LEASE.

IN pursuance of the Regulations for granting Leases for Gold Mining purposes, on Gold Fields in the Province of Auckland, we hereby make application for a Lease, whereof the particulars are as follow, to be granted to WILLIAM JESSE COOPE, and WILLIAM HENRY SMITH.

Estimated Area. Number of Years. Description of Land. If held under Miners’ Rights. Name (if any) of Claim. Special Description of Easements (if any) required.
15 acres. more or less. Fifteen. Auriferous quartz land in the Whakatete block, comprised within a line drawn about 200 yards in a N.W. course, from the N.E. corner of the Clydesdale Lease, thence about 200 yards in an E. course, thence about 400 yards in a S.E. course, thence to the Clydesdale lease boundary in a S.W. course. Not held under Miners’ Rights. Water Rights in two Creeks.
