Gold Mining Lease Application




PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

By JOHN WILLIAMSON, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Auckland.

IN conformity to the 29th Section of “The Gold Fields Act, 1866,” and to the Regulations made under that Act for the granting of Leases for Gold Mining purposes, it is hereby notified that it is intended to grant a Lease for Gold Mining purposes, of Crown lands, to the applicant specified in the annexed Schedule, unless valid objections can be shown against granting such Lease.

Objections to granting such Lease, stating the grounds of objection, must be made in writing, and lodged with the Wardens, at Shortland, within the time prescribed by the aforesaid Regulations.

Copy of the application made, and plans annexed, may be seen at the Wardens’ Office, Shortland.

Given under my hand at Auckland, this thirteenth day of September, One thousand eight hundred sixty-nine.

SCHEDULE.

APPLICATION FOR LEASE.

IN pursuance of the Regulations for granting Leases for Gold Mining purposes on Gold Fields in the Province of Auckland, I hereby make application for a Lease, whereof the particulars are as follow, to be granted to the “MOUNT AURUM GOLD MINING COMPANY (Registered).”

Estimated Area. Number of Years. Description of Land. If held under Miner’s Right, Name (if any) of Claim. Special Description of Easements (if any) required.
(15) Fifteen acres. Fifteen Quartz. Situate on the Karaka Creek, adjacent to the “Mount Aurum;” bounded on the North by the “Last Hit,” “Sylvia” and “Victoria” Companies, on the East by the “Port Phillip” and claims unnamed. On the South by the “Hyderabad” and claims unknown; on the West by the “Pride of Parnell.” Partly held under Miners’ Rights. Containing “Buona vista,” and “Pride of Shortland” Claims, and spare ground. The right of roads to the Karaka Creek, and the Tramway.
