Gold Mining Lease Application




PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

By JOHN WILLIAMSON, Esquire,
Superintendent
of the Province of Auckland.

IN conformity to the 29th Section of "The Gold Fields Act, 1866," and to the Regulations made under that Act for the granting of Leases for Gold Mining purposes, it is hereby notified that it is intended to grant a Lease for Gold Mining purposes, of Crown lands, to the applicants specified in the annexed Schedule, unless valid objections can be shown against granting such Lease.

Objections to granting such Lease, stating the grounds of objection, must be made in writing and lodged with the Wardens, at Shortland, within the time prescribed by the aforesaid Regulations.

Copy of the application made, and plans annexed, may be seen at the Wardens' Office Shortland.

Given under my hand, at Auckland, this thirteenth day of September, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-nine.

SCHEDULE

APPLICATION FOR LEASE.

IN pursuance of the Regulations for granting Leases for Gold Mining purposes on Gold Fields in the Province of Auckland, we hereby make application for a Lease whereof the particulars are as follow, to be granted to John Farrell and John Barron, on behalf of the "Lord Palmerston Gold Mining Company, (Registered)."

Estimated Area. Number of Years. Description of Land. If held under Miner’s Right. Name (if any) of Claim. Special Description of Easements (if any) required.
Twelve acres more or less. Fifteen years. Quantity of land comprising the "Exchequer" claim, Shellback Creek, and adjoining ground and lying between the "Exchequer" claim, held under Miner’s Right, the "Highland Mary" claim, the "Seven Pillars" claim, and the land held not under Miners’ Rights, beach at high water mark, and bounded on the North by the land applied for under Lease by the "Leith" Gold Mining Company. Right to erect machinery and make roads where requisite through the ground, the remainder of 12 men’s claims upon adjoining ground, and right of water passing through or upon the ground now applied for.
