Auckland, 25th August, 1869.

I HEREBY notify that the Secretary of the Board of Highway Trustees for the Mount Eden District has reported in writing to the Superintendent the election of Mr. James Green, as Chairman, and of Mr. John Kelly, as a Highway Trustee for the said district, in the room of Mr. John Walters, deceased.

IT is hereby notified that Horace Baker, Esq., has been duly licensed to act as a Gold Field Surveyor within the Province of Auckland.

I, THE undersigned, Alexander McKechnie, hereby make application to register “The Great United Quartz Mining Company, (Registered),” under the provisions of “The Mining Companies’ Limited Liability Act, 1865,” and I do solemnly and sincerely declare that the following statement is, to the best of my belief and knowledge, true in every particular, namely:—

  1. The name and style of the Company is “The Great United Quartz Mining Company (Registered).”
  2. The place of operations is at the Alabama Creek, Karaka, at the Thames Goldfield, in the Province of Auckland, in the Colony of New Zealand.
  3. The nominal capital of the Company is Five thousand Pounds, in Five thousand shares of One Pound each.
  4. The amount paid up is nil.
  5. The name of the Manager is Alexander McKechnie.
  6. The Office of the Company is at Williamson-street, Grahamstown.
  7. The names and several residences of the shareholders, and the number of shares held by each at this date, are as follow, namely:—
