Gold Mining Lease Application




PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

BY JOHN WILLIAMSON, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Auckland.

IN conformity to the 29th Section of “The Gold Fields Act, 1866,” and to the Regulations made under that Act for the granting of Leases for Gold Mining purposes, it is hereby notified that it is intended to grant a Lease, for Gold Mining purposes, of Crown lands to the applicant specified in the annexed Schedule, unless valid objections can be shown against granting such Lease.

Objections to granting such Lease, stating the grounds of objection, must be made in writing, and lodged with the Wardens, at Shortland, within the time prescribed by the aforesaid Regulations.

Copy of the application made, and plans annexed, may be seen at the Wardens’ Office, Shortland.

Given under my hand, at Wellington, this fifth day of August, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-nine.

SCHEDULE.

APPLICATION FOR LEASE.

IN pursuance of the Regulations for granting Leases for Gold Mining purposes on Gold Fields in the Province of Auckland, I hereby make application for a Lease, whereof the particulars are as follow, to be granted to THE MIDDLE STAR EXTENDED GOLD MINING COMPANY (to be registered).

Estimated Area. Number of Years. Description of Land. If held under Miners’ Right. Name (if any) of Claim. Special Description of Easements (if any) required.
12 acres. Fifteen Years. All that parcel of auriferous quartz land on the Thames Goldfield in the District of Hauraki, in the Province of Auckland, in the Colony of New Zealand, bounded by Port Waikato, and Shooting Star claims, Middle Star Gold Mining Company, Flagstaff, Pride of Erin, and Clarkson’s No 1, Gold Mining Companies. Miners’ Rights. Magnum Bonum, Twinkling Star, Kentish, Seven Stars, North Star, Star of Antrim.

Dated the 17th day of July, 1869.
