PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.
BY virtue of the powers in the Superintendent vested by the fourteenth section of "The Common Schools Act, 1869," I do hereby notify that that portion of the Province of Auckland, comprised within the boundaries hereunder described, shall be an Educational District under the said Act, and that such District shall be known by the name of
THE MANGAPAI AND MAUNGAKARAMEA EDUCATIONAL DISTRICT.
Comprising the Highway District known by the name of "The Mangapai Highway District," as constituted by notification in the Government Gazette of the Province of Auckland, No. 44, 26th September, 1867, page 415, and also the Highway District known by the name of "The Maungakaramea Highway District," as constituted by notification in the Government Gazette of the said Province, No. 11, 5th July, 1862, and also that portion of the Parish of Ruarangi being bounded towards the north-east by part of the north-western boundary of the Mangapai Highway District aforesaid, to the north-eastern angle of Allotment No. 36, of the Parish of Ruarangi aforesaid, again towards the east by the Road which forms the eastern boundary of Allotment No. 36 aforesaid, and Allotment No. 35, and part of the eastern boundary of Allotment No. 33, to the north-eastern angle of Allotment No. 74: of said Parish, thence by the north-eastern and eastern boundaries of said Lot No. 74 and the eastern boundary of Allotment No. 73 to its south-eastern angle. Towards the south by the southern boundaries of Allotments Nos. 73, 71, 28, and 30, and the eastern and south-western boundaries of Lot 27, part of the south-western boundary of Allotment No. 39 to the road which intersects Allotments Nos. 13, and 14. Again on the south-east by said road to the eastern angle of Lot No. 26. Towards the south-west by the Road which forms part of the south-western boundary of Lot 14 and the south-western boundaries of Lots Nos. 9, 8, 7, 5, and 3, all of the said Parish to the Tauraroa River. And on the west and north-west by the Tauraroa River aforesaid to the point of commencement.
And I do hereby appoint a Meeting of the resident occupiers of land and householders to take place at the Post Office, Mangapai, on Saturday, the seventeenth day of July next, at two o’clock in the afternoon, to appoint a Chairman, elect a School Committee, and for the other purposes set forth in the fourteenth section of the said Act.
