PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

Superintendent’s Office,
Auckland, 26th May, 1869.

The Superintendent has received a communication to the effect that H.M.S. Galatea will sail at 2 p.m. to-morrow (Thursday) on her final departure from New Zealand, and that it is the desire of His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh to go on board privately.

An Illumination of the Offices of the Provincial Government will take place this evening, as a Complimentary Farewell, on behalf of the Province, to His Royal Highness, and to the Officers and Crew of the Ship which he commands.
