PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

Superintendent’s Office,
Auckland, 19th May, 1869.

IT is hereby notified for general information that in commemoration of the Birthday of Her most Gracious Majesty the Queen, Monday next, the 24th instant, and the two following days, will be observed at the Provincial Government Offices as Public Holidays: and I hereby invite the Inhabitants of Auckland to join in keeping holiday on those days.

As it is proposed that a General Illumination in the City of Auckland shall take place on the evening of the Queen’s Birthday, and, with a view to prevent the occurrence of any accident upon that occasion through the discharge of Fireworks, the attention of the Public is directed to the twenty-sixth sub-section of section five of “The Auckland Municipal Police Act, 1866,” whereby any person “discharging any fire-arms, or setting off any fireworks or explosive material on any street, highway, or public place, or so near thereto as to endanger or annoy the passers-by,” shall be liable to a penalty as set forth in the said Act.

THE undersigned, ALEXANDER SAUNDERS, hereby make application to Register DIXON’S No. 1 GOLD-MINING COMPANY (Registered) under the provisions of the Mining Companies’ Limited Liability Act, 1865, and I do solemnly and sincerely declare that the following statement is to the best of my belief and knowledge true in every particular, namely:—

  1. The name and style of the Company is “Dixon’s No. 1 Gold-Mining Company (Registered).”

  2. The place of operation is at Madman’s Gully, Thames Goldfield.

  3. The nominal capital of the Company is £24,000, in 2,400 shares of £10 each.

  4. The amount already paid up is £21,600.

  5. The name of the manager is Alexander Saunders.

  6. The Office of the company is at Graham’s Town.

  7. The names and several residences of the shareholders, and the number of shares held by each at this date, are as follow:—
