PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.
By John Williamson, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Auckland.
IN conformity to the 29th Section of "The Gold Fields Act, 1866," and to the Regulations made under that Act, for the granting of Leases for Gold Mining purposes, it is hereby notified that it is intended to grant a Lease for Gold Mining purposes, of Crown lands to the applicants specified in the annexed Schedule, unless valid objections can be shown against granting such Lease.
Objections to granting such Lease, stating the grounds of objection, must be made in writing, and lodged with the Wardens, at Shortland, within the time prescribed by the aforesaid Regulations.
Copy of the application made, and plans affixed, may be seen at the Wardens’ Office Shortland.
Given under my hand, at Auckland, this fifteenth day of January, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-nine.

We have the honor to forward herewith application in duplicate for a lease of ground in the Ohinui Block, as also a deposit of £20, and beg to inform you that, in accordance with leasing regulations of 1868, all documents in reference to same may be left at the office of Messrs. Whitson and Co., Pollen-street, for Mr. W. S. Lyell.
In case of survey, we beg to ask that Messrs. Lessong and Stevens be appointed to act on behalf of Government and ourselves.
