PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

Auckland, 11th May, 1869.
In compliance with an Address received from the Auckland Provincial Council, I hereby convene a Public Meeting of the inhabitants of Auckland "To consider the propriety of forming a Society for the Relief of Sick and Destitute Persons, and Orphan and Neglected Children," and I hereby appoint the said Meeting to take place in the Hall of the Auckland Mechanics’ Institute, at three o’clock in the afternoon of Wednesday, the 26th day of May, instant.

TO ALL TO WHOM THESE PRESENTS SHALL COME.
WHEREAS by "The Militia Act, 1858," it is enacted that it shall be lawful for the Governor, or such person as he shall from time to time, by a warrant under his hand, appoint as his Deputy for that purpose, to direct the Officer Commanding the Militia of any District, with all convenient speed to draw out for actual service such Militia Force: Now know ye, that I, Daniel Pollen, the Deputy appointed for that purpose, by Warrant under the hand of His Excellency Sir George Ferguson Bowen, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby order and direct you, William Clarke, the Officer Commanding the Militia of the Wairoa District, with all convenient speed to draw out for Actual Service, the whole Militia Force within the said District of Wairoa.
Given under my hand at Auckland, this sixth day of May, One thousand eight hundred and sixty-nine.
