PUBLIC NOTIFICATION

Auckland, 23rd Dec., 1868.
The Superintendent notifies for general information that the Leases of Tolls, Dues, and Rates, advertised for sale by public auction on the 24th December inst., will be sold subject to the following reservations and exemptions, that is to say:-

Leases of Harbour Endowment Allotments, situated upon the Queen Street Wharf and Breakwater Road, Commercial Bay; to be for five years instead of three years, as previously advertised.

The Lease of the Tolls leviable at the Queen Street and Custom-house Street Wharves, and at the Gore Street Jetty, and Breakwater, etc.
Any dray or other vehicle conveying Her Majesty’s mails to or from any ship or vessel, to be exempted from payment of toll.
With this exception, the contractor is authorised to levy all such tolls as are authorised by notification in the Auckland Provincial Government Gazette of this date.

Lease of the Iron Store on the western side of the Queen Street Wharf; to extend for a period of five years, instead of three years, as previously notified.

Leases of the Tolls leviable at all the various toll gates and chain bars, including the Panmure Bridge Gate.
His Excellency the Governor and Suite, His Honor the Superintendent, and Officers of the Provincial Government, when on duty, shall be permitted, with their horses and carriages, to pass through any toll gate without payment of toll. No toll shall be leviable upon carts carrying either military stores or such road metal as may be required for the City Board of Commissioners or for the repair of public roads and roads which are under the control of the military authorities.
