PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

Superintendent's Office,
Auckland, 11th December, 1868.

IT is hereby notified that the period commencing on the 23rd December instant, and terminating on the 5th January proximo, (both days inclusive) will be observed upon the Thames Gold Field as a period of Public Holidays, during which all lawfully occupied Claims shall be deemed to be protected within the meaning of the Gold Fields Regulations.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

IN conformity with the 29th section of "The Gold Fields Act, 1866," it is hereby notified that it is intended to grant leases, for gold mining purposes, of Crown Lands to the applicants specified in the annexed Schedule, unless valid objections can be shown against granting such leases.

Objections to granting such leases, stating the grounds of objection, must be made in writing, and lodged with the Wardens at Shortland, within fourteen days from the publication of this notification in the Auckland Provincial Government Gazette and one of the local newspapers.

Copies of the applications made, and plans annexed, may be seen at the Wardens' Office, Shortland.

Given under my hand, at Auckland, this eleventh day of December, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-eight.
