Highway Districts and Crown Grants




PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

By John Williamson, Esquire,
Superintendent of the Province of Auckland.

By virtue of the powers in me vested by the third section of "The Highways Act, 1867," I do hereby notify that the portion of the Province of Auckland comprised within the boundaries hereunder described shall be a District under the said Act, and that such District shall be known by the name thereto prefixed, that is to say—

THE PAPATOITOI DISTRICT.

Bounded on the north-east by the middle of the Great South road from the Tamaki creek to Waters’ corner; on the south-east by the middle of the road bounding Clendon’s grant; on the north-west from Waters’ corner to Pukaki creek; on the south-west by the Pukaki creek, and on the north-west and west by the south-eastern boundary of the Mangarei Highway District; and by the Tamaki creek to the Great South road at the point of commencement.

Given under my hand, at Auckland, this fifth day of February, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-eight.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

Superintendent of the Province of Auckland.

In pursuance of the power in me vested by the fourth section of "The Highways Act, 1867," I do hereby bring the said Act into operation in the District of Pukearuho, and appoint the first meeting of the electors to take place at the Mangawai Hotel, Mangawai, on Tuesday, the twenty-fifth day of February instant, at eleven o’clock in the forenoon.

Given under my hand, at Auckland, this fourth day of February, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-eight.

In pursuance of the power in me vested by the fourth section of "The Highways Act, 1867," I do hereby bring the said Act into operation in the District of Awitu, and appoint the first meeting of the electors to take place at the residence of Mr. Anthony Mactier, at Awitu, on Tuesday, the twenty-fifth day of February instant, at eleven o’clock in the forenoon.

Given under my hand, at Auckland, this twelfth day of February, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-eight.

In pursuance of the power in me vested by the fourth section of "The Highways Act, 1867," I do hereby bring the said Act into operation in the District of the Pournock Settlement, and appoint the first meeting of the electors to take place at the residence of Mr. David Meikle, at the Pollock Special Settlement, on Tuesday, the twenty-fifth day of February instant, at eleven o’clock in the forenoon.

Given under my hand, at Auckland, this twelfth day of February, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-eight.
