I HEREBY notify for general information, that, by virtue of the authority vested in the Superintendent by “The Auckland Waste Lands Act, 1867,” I have, with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, appointed
CHARLES HEAPHY, Esq., V.C., Provincial Surveyor,
to be also Waste Lands Commissioner for the Province of Auckland.

I HEREBY notify for general information, that a Writ, issued by me on the thirteenth day of January, 1868, for the election of a Member of the Provincial Council, for the Electoral District of Auckland City East, has been returned with an endorsement thereon as follows:—
‘I, Henry Colin Balneavis, the Returning Officer for the Electoral District of Auckland City East, do hereby declare that in pursuance of the Writ to me directed, bearing date the thirteenth day of January, 1868, the undermentioned Candidate is duly elected a Member of the Provincial Council for the said District of Auckland City East.
Dated this thirty-first day of January, 1868.
