Municipal and Gold Mining Notifications




PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

By Every Maclean, Esquire,
Deputy Superintendent of the
Province of Auckland.

WHEREAS by an Act made and passed by the Superintendent of the Province of Auckland, with the advice and consent of the Provincial Council thereof, intituled "The Auckland Municipal Police Act, 1866," it is amongst other things enacted that the Superintendent may from time to time, by public notification in the Provincial Government Gazette, appoint and define the limits of cities, towns, and other places within the Province of Auckland, for the purposes of the said Act:

Now therefore I, Every Maclean, Deputy of the Superintendent of the Province of Auckland aforesaid, pursuant to the authority vested in the Superintendent in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that for the purposes of the said "Auckland Municipal Police Act, 1866," the limits of the Town of Howick, within which the said Act shall, from the date hereof, come into force, shall comprise all those lands which are at present, or hereafter may be contained within the boundaries of the Howick Township Highway District.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

Deputy Superintendent of the Province of Auckland.

UNDER and in pursuance of the power vested in the Superintendent by the fourth clause of "The Auckland Municipal Police Act, 1866," I do hereby appoint The Panmure Township Highway Trustees and their successors in office, to be the "local authority" referred to in the said Act, for the Town of Panmure.

Given under my hand, at Auckland, this eighth day of October, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-eight.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

Superintendent of the Province of Auckland.

IN conformity with the 28th section of "The Gold Fields Act, 1866," it is hereby notified that it is intended to grant leases, for gold mining purposes, of Crown lands to the applicants specified in the annexed Schedule, unless valid objections can be shown against granting such leases.

Objections to granting such leases, stating the grounds of objection, must be made in writing, and lodged with the Wardens at Shortland, within fourteen days from the publication of this notification in the Auckland Provincial Government Gazette and one of the local newspapers.

Copies of the applications, made, and plans annexed, may be seen at the Wardens’ Office, Shortland.

Given under my hand, at Wellington, this ninth day of October, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-eight.
