PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY.
VOL. XVII. FRIDAY, JUNE 5, 1868. [No. 31.]
PROCLAMATION.
By His Honor John Williamson, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Auckland, in the Colony of New Zealand.
WHEREAS, by the eleventh section of an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand, intituled "The Gold Fields Act 1866," it is enacted that it shall be lawful for the Governor in Council, subject to the provisions of the said Act, from time to time, to make Regulations for any Gold Field, or for any portion of a Gold Field, and to alter or amend or revoke the same. And whereas, in accordance with the provisions of the one hundred and ninth section of the said Act, the powers thus vested in the Governor by the eleventh section of the said Act have been delegated to me, John Williamson, as Superintendent of the Province of Auckland; and whereas, in pursuance of other powers delegated to me under the said Act, I, John Williamson, Superintendent of the Province of Auckland, on the Sixteenth day of May, 1868, by proclamation in the Government Gazette of the Province of Auckland, did constitute and proclaim a certain block of land, in the district of Coromandel, in the Province of Auckland, to be a Gold Field under the provisions of the said Act. And whereas it is expedient that new Regulations should be made for the said Gold Field:
Now therefore, I, the said John Williamson, Superintendent of the Province of Auckland, in exercise of the powers and authority delegated to me under the provisions of the said Act, do hereby revoke the Regulations previously in force within the Coromandel Gold Fields, and do order that the Regulations made for the Hauraki Gold Field, and published in the Provincial Government Gazette of the Province of Auckland, on the 16th day of April, 1868, shall be the Regulations in force within the Coromandel Gold Field. Provided that, in cases where claims were held and worked within the said district previous to the first day of May instant, such claims shall be subject to the Regulations formerly in force within the Coromandel Gold Field.
Given under my hand, at Auckland, in the Province of Auckland, this twenty-fifth day of May, in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-eight.
J. Williamson,
Superintendent.
