PUBLIC RECEPTION OF HIS EXCELLENCY SIR GEORGE F. BOWEN, G.C.M.G.

Superintendent’s Office,
Auckland, 23rd March, 1868.

THE Superintendent notifies that he has received, by the s.s. ‘Ahuriri,’ which arrived from Wellington this morning, a communication from His Excellency Sir George F. Bowen, of date the 18th instant, from which the following extract is published for general information:—

"We certainly leave this by the ‘Wellington,’ on Saturday at 3 p.m., so that we expect to reach Auckland early on Tuesday the 24th."

The public landing of His Excellency will take place to-morrow (TUESDAY), at an hour which will be appointed, and notified, after the arrival of the s.s. ‘Wellington.’

The Offices of the Provincial Government will be closed during the day.
