And whereas by a warrant under the hand of His Excellency the Governor, bearing date the fourteenth day of September, 1864, the said Governor, with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, delegated to the Superintendent of the Province of Auckland, certain powers conferred upon him by the “Diseased Cattle Act, 1861,” subject to certain regulations to be made by the Governor in Council under the said recited Act:

Now therefore, I, DANIEL POLLEN Esquire, Deputy Superintendent of the Province of Auckland, in pursuance of such delegation, hereby revoke the Proclamation issued by His Honour the Superintendent upon the 31st August, 1865, in so far as it defines the limits of the Infected Districts, as I do hereby proclaim and declare that from and after the day of the date hereof, that part of the Province of Auckland lying South of the Northern boundary of the County of Marsdale, shall be and be deemed to be an “Infected District” within the meaning of the “Diseased Cattle Act, 1861.” And in further pursuance of such delegations, I, the said Deputy Superintendent, do hereby make and ordain the following regulation, which shall be in force in the said district of the Province of Auckland.

REGULATION.

No person shall drive, or permit to be driven, or transport, or remove any cattle whatever from the said Infected District to that part of the Province of Auckland lying to the North of the said boundary, under a penalty not exceeding £200.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

By DANIEL POLLEN, Esq.,

Deputy Superintendent of the Province of Auckland.

UNDER and in pursuance of the powers vested in the Superintendent in that behalf, by “The Sheep Act, 1863,” of the Provincial Council of the Province of Auckland, I, the Deputy Superintendent, do hereby appoint and constitute all that portion of the said Province, bounded on the North by a right line from the source of the Horotiu River, on Lake Taupo, to the North Westernmost point of the Waikato Lake, and thence in a straight line to Point Marau, on the East coast; on the East, by the East Coast from Point Marau aforesaid, to the Southern boundary of the Province of Auckland; thence, on the South, by the said Southern boundary, to the Waikato River; and on the West by the Waikato River and the Eastern margin of Lake Taupo aforesaid, to the point of commencement, to be a district for the purposes of the said Act, under the name of “The East Coast Sheep District.”

Given under my hand, at Auckland, the Twenty-fourth day of August, One Thousand Eight Hundred and Sixty-six.
