THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.
No. 14. WEDNESDAY, APRIL 14, 1841.
PROCLAMATION.
By His Excellency Sir George Grey, Knight Commander of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-Chief of the Colony of New Zealand, and its Dependencies.
WHEREAS by the said Letters Patent, and by virtue of the powers and authorities therein contained, I am empowered to make laws and regulations for the peace, order, and good government of the said Colony, and to appoint and constitute such Courts of Justice and such Officers as may be necessary for the administration of justice therein;
NOW KNOW YE, that I, the said Governor, do hereby proclaim and declare, that from and after the publication of this Proclamation, the following persons are hereby appointed and constituted Justices of the Peace for the said Colony, viz.:

Given under my Hand and Seal at Government House, Auckland, this fourteenth day of April, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty-one, and in the fourth year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lady Queen Victoria.
