WYNYARD PIER REGULATIONS

or ground alongside the Wynyard Pier, or in any way made fast to the same.

  1. No cargo, timber, or goods, whatsoever, (personal luggage excepted) shall be landed or shipped from the Wynyard Pier.

  2. No boat shall be made fast in such a manner as to obstruct or impede access to the steps; and in case any person causing such obstruction or impediment will not remove or cause to be removed the same when ordered by the harbour master, pilot, or officer appointed for the purpose by the Superintendent, the harbour master, pilot, or officer appointed may remove such obstruction.

  3. None but licensed Watermen’s boats are allowed to be moored to the Pier during the night, and all others must be hauled off to their own moorings, leaving the steps clear.

  4. Washing of clothes or other articles on the Pier is prohibited.

  5. Fishing from or off the steps of the Pier is prohibited.

Bye law made by his Honour the Superintendent of the Province of Auckland, by virtue of clause 38 of the “Marine Board Act 1863.”

Any person offending against any of the Rules and Regulations for the Wynyard Pier made and published by His Honour the Superintendent of Auckland bearing date the 5th day of June shall be liable to the following penalties recoverable in a summary way, viz.:—

For every breach of the 1, 2, 3, or 4 Regulation, any sum not exceeding Ten Pounds.

Of the 5 or 6 Regulation, any sum not exceeding Two Pounds.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION

Auckland, June 2nd, 1866.

I HEREBY notify that the Chairman of the Annual Meeting of the Electors of the Pakurangi District has, in accordance with the provisions of the “Highways Act, 1862,” presented to me, in writing, the names of the undermentioned gentlemen, elected Highway Trustees for that District:

  • Campbell, William,
  • Hill, Frederick,
  • MacLean, Henry,
  • Roberts, Charles.

ERECTION OF NEW TOLL-GATE

NOTICE is hereby given, in terms of Clause 5 of “The Turnpike Act, 1866,” of the erection of new Toll-bars and Gates at the junction of Symonds-street, with the Khyber Pass and Whau Roads, and at the junction of the last named Road, with the Mount Eden Road, near Auckland; also on the Great North Road on the south side of the junction of the Ponsonby and Newton Roads, near Auckland.
