THE following Bye-Laws are published for general information.

Bye-Laws for the Hundred of Panmure,
for the year 1865.
At a meeting of the Wardens for the Hundred of Panmure, held on the 20th February, 1865, the following Bye-Laws were agreed to:—
1st. That each License holder be allowed to run eight head of great cattle in the Waste Lands of the Hundred, or Public Roads of Panmure, for the year 1865. Three head of small cattle being considered equal to one head of great cattle. One horse being considered equal to two head of great cattle. Foals not to reckon as stock until 12 months old, then to be rated as one head of great cattle until two year old, and then as horses.
2nd. No person shall be allowed to let at large on the Waste Lands or Public Roads of the hundred of Panmure, an Entire Beast, if an Entire Horse £2 sterling for every offence, if a Bull £1 sterling for every offence.
3rd. Any Pig found on the Run without a ring to prevent its rooting, will be charged to the owner two shillings and sixpence for every offence.
4th. The cattle of any unlicensed person found trespassing on the Waste Lands of the hundred or Public Roads of Panmure shall pay for every head of cattle impounded the sum of ten shillings and six pence in addition to poundage fees.
5th. Any sheep found trespassing on the Run will be impounded, and the owner thereof shall pay to the Wardens or Rangers the sum of two pence per head.
6th. Any person found guilty of worrying Cattle with dogs, on the Waste Lands of the Hundred of Panmure, shall pay for every such offence the sum of two pounds sterling, exclusive
or the amount of any damage done to such cattle, which may be recovered by the owner thereof by law.
7th. That GEORGE GILL be appointed Ranger, with an assistant to prevent the Run from trespass of unlicensed cattle, &c.

SIR,—The Wardens of the Hundred of Howick beg to inform you that they have made the following appointments for the year 1865, with a view to their being gazetted.
License holders occupying land within the Hundred of Howick, will be allowed to depasture up to 20 acres of land, five head of great cattle from 20 acres and up to fifty acres seven head of great cattle, and from fifty acres and upwards ten head of great cattle.
Persons depasturing a greater number of cattle than the above apportionments are to pay to the Wardens two shillings per head per annum for great cattle, and one shilling per head for small cattle, under a penalty of one pound for each and every offence.
Four head of small cattle to be allowed in lieu of one head of great cattle.
No Entire Cattle of any description above the age of one year to be allowed on the run, without the permission of the Warden’s in writing, under a penalty of one pound for each and every offence.
On or before the 31st March next, all persons holding Depasturing Licenses are to send in writing to the Secretary to the Wardens, a return of the number of acres they occupy, and the number of cattle which they have upon the Run, under a penalty of five shillings for every day such return be neglected to be sent in.
The Wardens have appointed Mr. ANTHONY CONLON to be their Treasurer, and Mr. JAMES WHITE to be their Secretary.
