The bearings before mentioned are by compass, and the rise and fall of tides may be considered as follows:—Neaps about 8 feet and Springs 12 feet at ordinary tide. High water at the full and change of the Moon at the entrance of the harbor, 9.30 a.m.

NOTICE TO MARINERS.

THE following notice is published for general information.

TAURANGA HARBOUR.

Masters of Vessels are hereby informed that the Beacon on the Northern extreme of Middle Ground in the Harbour of Tauranga was destroyed on the 21st July ultimo, and that a Black Buoy has been placed in the same position until the Beacon can be replaced.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

Deputy Superintendent of the Province of Auckland.

UNDER and in pursuance of the powers vested in me in that behalf by the “Impounding Act, 1856,” of the Local Legislature of the Province of Auckland, I hereby appoint Those Premises in the Township of Newcastle, now enclosed and fenced as a Pound, shall be and be used as a Public Pound, for the purposes of the said Act.

Given under my hand, at Auckland, this eighth day of August, in the year of Our Lord One thousand eight hundred and sixty-five.

TENDERS FOR ERADICATING THISTLES.

Auckland, 8th August, 1865.

TENDERS will be received at this Office until noon of Monday, the 28th August next, from persons willing to contract for Eradicating and Destroying all Noxious Thistles, growing upon any waste lands of the Crown, lands belonging to the aboriginal natives, and on any public road or reserve within one or more of the several sub-districts hereinafter described, for the term of Ten Months, ending 30th June, 1865.

KOMOKORIKI.

Commencing on the Kaipara River, and bounded on the North-West by the north-western boundary of the Parish of Komokoriki, until it intersects the Onehunga Rivulet; on the East by that rivulet in a southerly direction to the southern boundary of the Ahuroa Parish, and by that boundary westerly to its junction with the eastern boundary of the Parish of Komokoriki aforesaid; thence in by a straight line in a southerly direction to the north-western angle of the Parakakau Block, on the Waitoki Stream; on the South by that stream and the northern boundary of the Parish of Kaukapakapa to the Kaipara; and on the West by that river to the point of commencement.

KAUKAPAKAPA.

Commencing on the Kaipara River, and bounded on the North by the southern boundary of the Parish of Makarou, until it intersects the Waitaki Stream, thence by that stream and the northern boundary of the Parakakau Block, to its N.E. angle; on the East by the eastern and part of the southern boundaries of the Parakakau Block aforesaid, until it intersects the western side of the Great North road, thence along that road to the southern boundary of the Pukeatua Block; and on the South by that boundary and the southern boundary of the Kaukapakapa South Block, to the south-eastern angle of the Kaikai Block, thence by the north-eastern boundary of that block to the Kaukapakapa River; and on the West by that river and the Kaipara to the point of commencement.

ARARIMU.

Commencing at the head of the Kaipara, and bounded on the West by that river and the Kaukapakapa River, to the northern angle of the Kaikai Block; thence on the North by the north-eastern boundary of that block and the southern boundaries of the Kaukapakapa South and Pukeatua Blocks, to the western side of the Great North road; on the East by that road to Lot 1, Parish of Waipareira; and on the South by the northern boundary of that lot to the Kumeu Rivulet, and thence westerly along that rivulet to the south-west angle of Lot 8 Parish of Ararimu, by that lot to its north-west angle, and from thence by a straight line in a westerly direction to the head of the Kaipara aforesaid.
