Light to the state of the atmosphere, from E. ¼ S., round by the N.N.W. ¼ W.

The tower will be thirty feet in height from base to vane.
This light is expected to be ready for permanent exhibition about March, 1865.

Tairoa’s Head Lighthouse.

Tairoa’s Head Lighthouse is situated on the headland bearing that name, on the east or seaward side of the entrance to Otago Harbour, in 45° 47' south latitude, and 170° 45' east longitude, as measured on the Admiralty Charts.

The Light will be a Fixed Dioptric Red Light of the third order and will be seen to seaward from about E. 3 N. round by the North to about N.W.; and up the Harbour it will show from about W. ½ S. to about S.W. ¼ W., the latter line indicating the turning-point of the Cross Channel.

The light will be elevated about 196 feet above the level of the sea, and will be visible in clear weather about 20 nautical miles, allowing 15 feet for the height of the observer’s eye, and at lesser distances according to the state of the atmosphere.

The tower, which, together with the dwelling houses, will be painted white, will be 39½ feet high from the ground to the top of the lantern...

This light is expected to be ready for permanent exhibition on and after the night of Monday, January 2nd, 1865.

Note.—All bearings given in the above notice are compass bearings from the Lighthouse.

In the Matter of the Petitions of George Ridings, of Auckland, Wine Merchant; Andrew Miller Dick, of Auckland, Gentleman; Andrew Kerr, of Auckland, Butcher; James Serret, of Otahuhu, Carpenter; George Forrester, of Auckland, Settler; and Peter Coxton, of the same place, Draper—Debtors.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Creditors of the above-named Debtors are, on or before the twelfth day of January next, to come in and prove their Debts, at the Court House, Auckland.

And Notice is further given, that a sitting of the Court will be held at the Court House, Auckland, on the thirteenth day of January next, at Eleven o’clock in the forenoon, for the hearing of the Petitions of the above-named Debtors, and for the despatch of all business accruing under the said Act.

NOTICE.

Commissioner of Crown Lands Office,
Auckland, December 12, 1864.

DEPASTURING LICENCES within the proclaimed Hundreds will be issued under the Crown Lands Ordinance, No. 1, Session 10, and No. 10, Session 11, and “The Crown Lands Act, 1862,” to all persons being occupants of land under Crown Grants, or in the case of Pensioners, Natives, or Half-castes, by permission of the Crown, applying for such License on or before the 1st January, 1865.

The Licenses will be issued on payment of a fee of ten shillings and sixpence for each.
