PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

Superintendent’s Office,
Auckland, 18th July, 1864.

I HEREBY notify that the Chairman of a General Meeting of the Electors of the "Waipu District," has, in accordance with the provisions of the "Highways Act, 1862," presented to me, in writing, the name of the undermentioned gentleman elected Highway Trustee for that district.

No. 11, MAHURANGI.

The limits of this District are: on the North, the summit of the mountain range from Paeknuri to the source of the West branch of the Matakana river; on the East, the West branch of the Matakana river and the Matakana harbour to the sea; on the South, the Native land on the South head of Mahurangi harbour, the Native land on the Puka Puka, the source of the Puka Puka creek or stream, and Southern boundary of the Parish of Ahuroa; and on the West, the Onehunga stream to Pae Kanuri, inclusive of lot No. 14 of the Parish of Kowhaira.

No. 12, WAIWERA.

Is bounded on the North by the Puka Puka and the Ahuroa Block; on the West by a line direct from the South-West angle of the Ahuroa Block to the flat-topped mountain and the Waitoke stream to the Great North Road; on the South-East by the Great North Road and the Southern boundary of the Parakakau Block and the Wainui Block to the Orewa River; and on the East by the sea.


Tenders for Eradicating Thistles.

Superintendent’s Office,
Auckland, 22nd July, 1864.

TENDERS will be received at this Office until noon of Wednesday, the 17th August next, from persons willing to contract for eradicating and destroying all noxious Thistles growing upon any of the Waste Lands of the Crown and on any public reserve, within the Districts hereinafter described, from the 1st September 1864, till the 30th June 1865.

Tenders to be endorsed, "Tender for eradicating Thistles."

No. 8, DRURY AND WAIUKU.

Is bounded on the North by the waters of the Manukau, and the division line known as Hewling’s line, between the Parishes of Wairoa and Papakura, on the one side, and Hunua and Opaheke on the other; on the East by the Wairoa, Mangawhau and Mangatawhiri Rivers, on the South by the Waikato River to its mouth; and on the West by the sea.

No. 9, WAIROA.

Is bounded on the North by Waiheke Channel, from the Eastern boundary of the Hundred of Howick to the Wairoa River; on the East by the Wairoa River; on the South-East by Hewling’s line; on the South and South-West by the Pahurehure Creek, and by the Manukau Harbour to the South-Eastern boundary of Clevedon’s Grant; on the North-West by Clevedon’s Grant to the Eastern boundary of the Hundred of Otahuhu; and on the West by the Eastern boundaries of the Hundreds of Otahuhu and Howick.


NOTICE

THE Chairman of the Board of Highway Trustees for the District of Waipu, desire it to be notified for public information that they have appointed

JOHN J. McKAY

to be Rate Collector for that District for the present year.

June 18th, 1864.

Auckland, July 9, 1864.

HEREBY notify for the information of all persons, that, by virtue of the powers vested in me under "The Crown Lands Act, 1862," the penalty for unlawful occupation of any Crown Lands will be strictly enforced, and all persons unlawfully cutting and removing timber from any Crown Lands will be prosecuted according to law.
