PROCLAMATION.
By Robert Graham, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Auckland, in the Colony of New Zealand.
WHEREAS by an Act made and passed in the twenty-first year of the reign of Her Majesty Queen Victoria, intituled "The Auckland Waste Lands Act, 1858," it is among other things enacted that it should be lawful for the Superintendent by Proclamation to declare that a certain block of Land therein described should be set apart and reserved for certain immigrants expected to arrive from the United Kingdom or elsewhere, other than the Australian Colonies:
Now, therefore, pursuant to the authority vested in me in that behalf, I, the Superintendent of the Province of Auckland, do hereby proclaim and declare that all that Block of Land known as the Maungatete Block, in the County of Mongonui, estimated to contain about fourteen thousand acres, shall be reserved and set apart for certain immigrants expected to arrive from the United Kingdom, and to be called The Mongonui Special Settlement.
Given under my hand, at Auckland, this eighteenth day of May, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-four.
