PUBLIC NOTIFICATION

Superintendent’s Office,
Auckland, 19th January, 1863.

I HEREBY notify for general information that a Memorial signed by a majority in number of all persons having such interest in the District of Panmure, as is required by the "Highways Act, 1862," praying that the operation of the said Act may be extended to the said District, has been received by me;

And I do hereby declare that the "Highways Act, 1862," shall henceforth be in full operation within the said District of Panmure.

PROCLAMATION

By Robert Graham, Esquire,
Superintendent of the Province of Auckland.

WHEREAS by the "Provincial Bills Act, 1858," it was amongst other things enacted that, whenever any Bill shall have been passed by the Provincial Council of any Province, and shall have been reserved by the Superintendent for the signification of the Governor’s pleasure thereon, such Bill shall not have any force or authority within the said Province until the Superintendent shall signify either by speech or message to the Provincial Council, or by Proclamation in the Government Gazette of the said Province, that such Bill had been laid before the Governor, and that the Governor had assented to the same;

And whereas a Bill was passed by the Provincial Council of the Province of Auckland, on the thirteenth day of December last, intituled the "Auckland Representation Act, 1863," and the same was reserved by me for the signification of the pleasure of the Governor thereon;

Now, therefore, I, the Superintendent of the Province of Auckland, do hereby proclaim that the said Bill has been laid before the Governor, and that he has been pleased to assent to the same.

Given under my hand, at Auckland, this nineteenth day of January, in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-three.
