or are licensed by Government, or other land owners, ought to be allowed to run cattle, and that in proportion to their acreage,

  1. That all people having pigs or goats should be compelled to keep them on their own premises, or to pay all damages the pigs or goats may do, whether on fenced or unfenced land.

  2. That parties occupying or possessing land should be required to fence in their own cultivations, and in case of trespass, and without a sufficient fence being erected, no damage or impounding to be enforced within proclaimed Hundreds.

  3. That all Pounds should be erected in the most public situations, and at all times open to inspection, and kept free from obstruction to view the same.

  4. That when the title of any native land is recognized by the Government, such lands should be amenable to the Fencing and Impounding Acts.

  5. That all fees and damages should be paid previously to the release of cattle from a pound.

WEIGHTS AND MEASURES NOTICE.

Superintendent's Office,
Auckland, 18th July, 1863.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Inspector of Weights and Measures will attend at his office, in the iron building attached to the Superintendent's office, Princes-street, every Tuesday and Friday, between the hours of ten and two, for the purpose of comparing weights and measures with the standards; and that at other times he will visit places of business for the purpose of inspecting the weights and measures used therein, as empowered by the Weights and Measures Ordinance.
