Sheep Act, 1863,' of the Provincial Council of
the Province of Auckland, I, the Superintendent
of the said Province, do hereby appoint and
constitute all that portion of the said Province
which is situate within a radius of thirty miles
from the Supreme Court House at Auckland, in
the said Province, to be a district for the
purposes of the said Act, under the name of
The Auckland Sheep District.
Given under my hand, at Auckland, the
twenty ninth day of May, one thou-
sand eight hundred and sixty-three.

I hereby notify for public information, that
under the authority of an Act of the
Provincial Council, intituled “The Sheep Act
1863,” I have appointed
Mr. Francis Charles Lewis
to be Inspector of Sheep for the Auckland Sheep
District.

NOTICE is hereby given that the North
East corner of the Mount Eden Quarry,
as marked out, is temporarily reserved for the
exclusive use of the City Board and placed
under their control.

TENDERS.
Superintendent’s Office,
Auckland, 28th May, 1863.
TENDERS will be received at this
office until noon of Thursday,
the 18th day of June next, for fur-
nishing the Provincial Government
with the undermentioned supplies, in
such quantities as may be required,
during the six months commencing
the 1st July, 1863, upon the condi-
tions hereinafter specified.
Separate tenders to be sent in for
each service. Information may be
obtained at this office.
FIREWOOD—TEA TREE.
Of the usual lengths
Lengths, cut and split to suit office fire-places.
Tenders to state the price per ton at which
the above will be delivered at the Gaol, the
Hospital, the Lunatic Asylum, Stockade,
(Mount Eden) and the several public offices.
RATIONS FOR CONVICTS & OVERSEERS.
Best
Ordinary delivered at Mount Eden Gaol.
Solitary
HARD LABOUR RATIONS.
Best delivered at the Auckland or
Ordinary Mount Eden Gaols, as may be
Solitary required.
LOCK-UP RATIONS.
The before-mentioned rations must be deli-
vered at the Auckland and Mount Eden Gaols
by ½-past 6 o’clock each morning, or the
Gaoler will purchase at the expense of the
Contractor.
N.B.—The Tenders for the Convict and
Hard Labour Rations will be considered sepa-
rately, and the contract will not necessarily be
given to the same person.
SUPPLIES.
Straw, at per ton of 2,240 lbs.
Oil, at per gallon
Cotton wick, at per lb.
Delivered at the Auckland or Mount Eden
Gaols, as may be required.
POLICE.
Oil, at per gallon
Cotton wick, at per lb.
RATIONS FOR DESTITUTE PERSONS.
Consisting of Bread 1½ lb., Meat (free from
bone), ½ pound, at per ration.
PROVISIONS FOR PROVINCIAL HOS-
PITAL AND LUNATIC ASYLUM.
The articles to be delivered at the Hospital
and Lunatic Asylum, at the expense of the
contractor, and to be subject to the approval
of the Provincial Surgeon.

Fresh mutton | from bone
Fine bread
Potatoes, butter
Tea and sugar, No. 1 Company’s
Oatmeal
Treacle
Arrowroot, fine flour
Pearl barley
Sago, suet
Rice, tobacco
Salt, pepper

Mould candles
Eggs, per dozen
Fowls, each
Brandy, port wine, sherry, | at per two

be submitted with the tenders.
