AUCKLAND PROVINCIAL GOVERNMENT GAZETTE.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

WHEREAS by virtue of a Writ to him directed, and dated the 18th day of October last, the Principal Returning Officer for the Province of Auckland caused an Election to be made by the Voters duly qualified for that purpose, in the manner and form by Law prescribed, of a legally qualified person to serve as Superintendent for the said Province: And whereas the said Principal Returning Officer did, on the Eleventh day of December instant, publicly declare that at the said Election, I, ROBERT GRAHAM, had the greatest number of votes, and was duly Elected to be the Superintendent: Now, therefore, I, the said Robert Graham, do hereby notify and declare that I have assumed the office of Superintendent of the Province of Auckland accordingly, and I hereby call upon the inhabitants of the said Province to be aiding and assisting me therein.

HEREBY notify for general information that, pursuant to the authority vested in the Superintendent by the “Provincial Government Act,” No. 7, I have appointed the undermentioned gentlemen to be Members of the Provincial Executive Council:—

PROCLAMATION.

By ROBERT GRAHAM, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Auckland, in the Colony of New Zealand.

WHEREAS by an Act made and passed in the Parliament holden in the fifteenth and sixteenth years of the reign of Her present Majesty, intituled “An Act to grant a Representative Constitution to the Colony of New Zealand,” it is amongst other things enacted that it shall be lawful for the Superintendent, by proclamation in the Government Gazette, to fix such place or places within the limits of the Province and such times for holding the first and every other Session of the Provincial Council as he may think fit.

Now, THEREFORE, pursuant to the authority in me vested in that behalf, I, the Superintendent of the Province of Auckland, do hereby proclaim and declare that the fifteenth session of the Provincial Council shall be holden at Auckland, and shall commence on Saturday, the twenty-seventh day of December, instant; and the Members of the said Council are hereby warned to give their attendance at the said time and place accordingly.

Given under my hand, at Auckland, this eleventh day of December, in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight and sixty-two.

ERRATUM.

IN the Auckland Provincial Government Gazette of December 8th, 1862, page 141, last line but one of the Schedule of Assessment, for “156,” read “176.”
