the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice Admiral of the same, &c., &c., &c.
WHEREAS by an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand, intituled the "Gold Fields Act, 1858," it is provided that it shall be lawful for the Governor in Council under his hand, and under the Seal of the Colony, from time to time to delegate to the Superintendent of any Province, or to such other person as the Governor may deem fit, all or any of the powers vested in the Governor or the Governor in Council, by the said Act, except the powers conferred by sections 7, 8, 27, and 40 thereof, subject to any limitations or restrictions as he may think fit.
Now, therefore, I, Sir George Grey, the Governor of the said Colony, with the advice and consent of the Executive Council thereof, and in exercise of the power and authority for this purpose in me vested, do hereby delegate, absolutely, and without restriction, unto Duncan Alexander Cameron, C. B., Lieut.-General in Her Majesty’s Army, all the powers vested in me under or by virtue of the "Gold Fields’ Act, 1858," except the powers contained in sections 7, 8, 27, and 40 of the said Act, to have, hold, and exercise within the Province of Auckland, the said powers hereby given.
Given under my hand, at the Government House, at Auckland, and issued under the Seal of the Colony of New Zealand, this twenty-fifth day of June in the year of Our Lord One thousand eight hundred and sixty-two.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.
By DANIEL POLLEN, Esquire, Deputy of the Superintendent of the Province of Auckland.
WHEREAS a majority of the persons occupying property liable to be rated under the provisions of the "Local Improvement Act, 1858," having a frontage to that portion of Albert-street, which is bounded on the one side by Victoria-street, and on the other side by Wellesley-street, and occupying at least one-half of the frontage to the said portion of the said street, have represented to me that they are willing to be specially rated for the purpose of improving the said portion of Albert-street aforesaid.
Now therefore, I, the said Deputy of the Superintendent, for the purpose of raising one moiety of the estimated cost of the said improvements, do hereby, by virtue of the power and authority by the said Act given, order and direct that an equitable rate, at the sum of one shilling and sixpence for every foot of frontage to the said portion of Albert-street, be levied upon all real property having a frontage to the said portion of the said street, except upon such land as is by the said Act excepted. And I do hereby appoint that the said rate shall be paid and payable to ROBERT BAILLIE LUSK, at the Provincial Treasury, on Friday the 15th day of August next; and I do hereby further give notice that in the schedule hereunder written, is set forth a list of the names of the persons liable for the payment of such rate, and the amount payable by each such person.

NOTIFICATION.

Auckland, 11th July, 1862.
COMPLAINTS having been made by the Contractors for the repair of Sections 1 and 2, Great South Road, that the public work which they have undertaken is obstructed by persons who, without permission, remove from the quarry at Otahuhu the metal prepared for being laid upon the road, notice is hereby given that, after Monday next, the 21st inst., except by permission of the Provincial Engineer, Scoria Ash must not be removed from the quarry on the Government Reserve at Otahuhu.
