1 Red Steer, cocked horns, white belly and flank, indistinct brand near rump.

1 White Steer, red ears, straight horns, blotched brand near rump, two slits in near ear, 18 months old.

No damages. Owner unknown.

Impounded by Mr. W. S. King, for trespass in an enclosed paddock at Papatoetoe,—

28 Sheep; paint marks on rump and back, some with J S on near side.

Damages 1s. each. Owner unknown.

If not claimed within eleven days after the date of this notice, application will be made to a Justice of the Peace for an order for the sale of the above mentioned Foal, Cattle, and Sheep, agreeably to the provisions of the “Impounding Act, 1856.”

After Parliament moved to Wellington in 1865, the Auckland Provincial Council sat in General Assembly House (depicted).

It was nicknamed the 'Shedifice' as it was large and drafty, with a leaking roof. First premier Henry Sewell described it as 'a great wooden barnshaped affair, which might serve for a Hospital, a Jail, or a Barrack'.
