  1. All disputes between holders of licenses having reference to depasturing stock or cutting timber, shall be heard and decided by the Commissioner, who is hereby authorised to charge at his discretion to the party against whom his decision shall be made, a fee of five pounds.

  2. Licenses for depasturing purposes may be transferred from one person to another, by the Commissioner, with the approval of the Superintendent.

Whereas [Name] has made application for a license to depasture stock upon the Waste Lands of the Crown within the district of [boundaries], and has this day paid into my hands the sum of £ s. d., I, [Superintendent's Name], do hereby license the said [Name] to [depasture stock] upon the said land for the term of fourteen years from the date hereof; subject, nevertheless, to be sooner determined, pursuant to the provisions of the “Waste Land Regulations, 1859,” under which this license is issued, and to be cancelled as by law is provided.

Timber license to [Name] at [Location], permission to cut, saw, split, and remove timber on and from the Waste Crown Lands at [Location], within such limits as may at any time be assigned by the Commissioner, subject to the provisions of the “Waste Land Regulations 1859.”

N.B.—If the holder of the above license shall contravene or violate any order or regulation made with respect to any of the purposes for which this license is granted, the Government reserves to itself the power of declaring the license of any such person so offending to be cancelled, and such license shall thereupon become null and void, and shall not be pleaded in justification of any offence committed against the provisions of any Ordinance relating thereto.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

By JOHN WILLIAMSON, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Auckland.

WHEREAS a majority of the persons occupying property liable to be rated under the provisions of the “Local Improvement Act, 1858,” having a frontage to the East side of Queen-street, between Shortland street and Victoria-street, and occupying at least one half of the frontage to the said portion of the said Street, have represented to me that they are willing to be specially rated for the purpose of forming a footpath, with a kerbstone, from the corner of Shortland-street along the east side of Queen-street, to the corner of Victoria-street, aforesaid,

And Whereas I, the said Superintendent, for the purpose of raising one moiety of the estimated cost of the said Improvements, do hereby by virtue of the powers and authority to me by the said Act given, order and direct that an equitable rate at the sum of two shillings and sixpence, for every foot of frontage to the said portion of Queen-street, be levied upon all real property having a frontage to the said portion of the said street, except upon such land as is by the said Act excepted. And I do hereby appoint that the said rate shall be paid and payable to ROBERT BAILLIE LUSK on the eighteenth day of July next. And I do hereby further give notice that in the Schedule hereunder written is set forth a list of the names of the persons liable for the payment of such rate and the amount payable by each such person:
