THE following Return of the Names of all persons to whom Certificates have been issued under the "Naval and Military Scrip Act, 1856," from the 1st to the 31st December, 1858, is published in accordance with the provisions of the said Act.

PROCLAMATION.

By His Excellency Colonel Thomas Gore Browne, Companion of the most Honorable Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand, and Vice-Admiral of the same, &c., &c.

WHEREAS the Land hereinafter mentioned has been acquired by purchase from the Aboriginal Inhabitants of New Zealand, and it is expedient that the acquisition thereof should be notified by Proclamation accordingly:

Now, therefore, I, the Governor, do hereby proclaim and notify that the Native Title has been extinguished over the Block of Land whereof the Boundaries are mentioned or described in the Schedule hereunto annexed.

Given under my hand, and issued under the Public Seal of the Colony, at Government House, at Auckland, this 28th day of December, in the year of Our Lord, One thousand eight hundred and fifty-eight.

Kaukapakapa East Block, estimated to contain 7200 Acres.

BOUNDARIES.

A line commencing at Whakatiwai, at te Maioro, by the side of Kaukapakapa river thence along the surveyed line to Waikiekie, thence along the Kaipara river to Wharewhakarato, it then runs inland seventy-four degrees, forty minutes, (74° 40') nine thousand eight hundred and ninety-nine (9899) links to Ruitotara and Ohola, thence to Otuakopuni and Rongomaimatua, seventy-nine degrees, twenty minutes, (79° 20') ten thousand eight hundred (10,800) links, thence to Waitoki, to Pa rekahau boundary, eighty degrees, thirty-six minutes, (80° 36') two thousand and twenty-seven (2027) links, it then runs along the course of Kaukapakapa river to Kotowhiki, to Waikakarauhe, Onapu, Otuwhare, till it reaches Whakatiwai at te Maioro at the point of commencement.
