HUNDRED OF PANMURE.

THE following Bye-Laws are published for general information.

BYE-LAWS FOR THE HUNDRED OF PANMURE

FOR THE YEAR 1858.

  1. Any Pig or Pigs found rooting on the Waste or Common Lands, or Public Roads, the said Pig or Pigs not having rings in their noses, the owner or owners shall pay for each pig every time they are apprehended the sum of two shillings and sixpence.

  2. Any unlicensed person or persons running Cattle on the Waste or Common Lands or Public Roads of the Crown shall have their Cattle impounded in the Public Pound at Newmarket, and pay the sum of ten shillings for each beast, and for every subsequent offence of the law a similar sum to be recovered in a summary way.

  • 1 red Cow, with white spots, branded PK right rump, and top off left ear
  • 1 light brown Cow, black about the muzzle, hoop horns, branded CC right rump, and left shoulder
  • 1 red and white Cow, branded like NJ on left rump, and a piece out of the left ear

Damages, none; owner unknown.
