Government Supply Tenders




Superintendent's Office,

Auckland, June 1st, 1858.

TENDERS
will be received at this Office,
until noon of Monday, the 21st day
of June instant, for furnishing the Provincial
Government with the undermentioned supplies, in such quantities as may be required
during the six months commencing the 1st
July, 1858, upon the conditions hereinafter
specified.

FIREWOOD—TEA TREE.

Of the usual lengths
Lengths, cut and split to suit office fireplaces
Tenders to state the price per ton at which
the above will be delivered at the Gaol, the
Hospital, the Lunatic Asylum, Stockade,
Mount Eden, and the several public Officer.

RATIONS.

Gaol, at per ration
Lock-up, at do
Destitute persons, at do
Separate tenders to be sent in for each service. Information may be obtained at this
office.

STOCKADE, MOUNT EDEN.

At per ration
Straw at per ton of 2240lbs.
Oil, sperm, at per gallon

PROVISIONS FOR PROVINCIAL HOSPITAL AND LUNATIC ASYLUM.

The articles to be delivered at the Hospital
and Lunatic Asylum, at the expense of the
Contractor, and to be subject to the approval
of the Provincial Surgeon as to quality.

CONDITIONS.

Samples of the various articles will have to
be submitted for inspection if required.

The contractors will be required to deliver
the different supplies from time to time at
such places, and in such quantities, as may
be indicated by the Superintendent.

The Government does not bind itself to
accept the lowest, or any of the tenders, sent
in.

Payment for any of the above supplies will
be made at the end of each month.

Tenders to be sealed and endorsed “Tender
for supply of (name of article).”

In the event of a difference of opinion between
the Contractor and the Officer receiving the
supplies, the same is to be decided in cases
where the article is not of a perishable nature
by a Board of survey, composed of persons
named by the Government. If the board
shall decide that the article is not of a proper
quality it must be immediately replaced by
the Contractor, failing which it will be procured by the department requiring it, and the
expense charged to the Contractor.

nature, or in which, from some other cause,
