PROCLAMATION.
By His Excellency Colonel Thomas Gore Browne, Companion of the most Honourable Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand, and Vice-Admiral of the same, &c., &c., &c.
WHEREAS the Land hereinafter mentioned has been acquired by purchase from the Aboriginal inhabitants of New Zealand, and it is expedient that the acquisition thereof should be notified by Proclamation accordingly: Now therefore, I, the Governor, do hereby proclaim and notify that the Native Title has been extinguished over the several blocks of Land whereof the boundaries are mentioned or described in the Schedule hereunto annexed.
Given under my hand, and issued under the Public Seal of the Colony of New Zealand, at Government House, at Auckland, this eighth day of April, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty eight.
